The aim of the course is to establish an understanding and appreciation of intelligent materials and their applications in biomedical engineering, and to develop design skills related to biomedical systems that can include smart materials.
2017: The exam consists of a 15 slide presentation on an application of an intelligent material chosen by the student and a short practical on solid design and Arduino (The course in 2017 also covers a knowledge gap in technical design and open electronics).
2018: The exam consists in a written exam (5 questions) and an oral discussion of the lab projects (class project + brief conceptual design of a mechanical testing device using a smart material)
2019: The exam consists in a written exam (5 questions) and on the evaluation of the lab activity.
