Alessandro Settimi received the Bachelor Degree in Information Engineering, the Master Degree in Robotics and Control Engineering and the Ph.D. in Information Engineering from the Università di Pisa in 2010, 2013 and in 2017, respectively. He is currently a Post-Doc researcher at the Centro di Ricerca "E. Piaggio" of Università di Pisa and CEO and co-founder of Proxima Robotics srl. He works in planning and control of humanoid robots and autonomous vehicles and robots software architecture. He worked on the humanoid robot Walk-Man, in the context of the Walk-Man European project, in particular on the remote-control interface and on planning algorithm for autonomous loco-manipulation tasks. He participated to the 2015 Darpa Robotics Challenge as robot pilot, in the Walk-Man team. He developed distributed algorithms for global task assignment problems applied to heterogeneous mobile robots optimizing local cost functions.
